Circuit Board Eco-Gifts

Looking for a green gift? How about a keyring, mousemat or even a credit card holder – all made from recycled circuit boards? Innovative UK business Revolve gives printed circuit boards a second chance.  All of their trinkets come from reclaimed boards, which would otherwise have gone in the landfill or council tip. Coasters, clocks and even picture frames are available. If you’re looking for a bespoke gift then there’s even an option to personalise.

Every piece of electronic equipment uses a printed circuit board. These are inexpensive to produce and manufactured in vast quantities. Although very reliable, as technology moves on, their lifespan becomes limited – just think of all the electronic goods that become obsolete each year.

Printed circuit boards are free of components attached with solder or glue. This means that they are free of many of the heavy metals associated with electronic components, making them perfect for re-use in a consumer product. After being cut into shape, each circuit board is hand-finished to make sure no sharp edges remain. They are then transformed into a stylish new product.

All of the printed circuit boards used by Revolve would otherwise have ended up in landfill, so not only do their gifts look good, they help the environment too.
