Coombs Family Farms Maple Syrup

I’m a true (displaced) New Englander. I love everything New England (excluding seafood) – smells, sights, sounds, tastes, you name it. Pure maple syrup is one of those New England flavors that just can’t be replicated exactly anywhere except for in New England itself, which is where Coombs Family Farms is (Vermont, home of the best maple syrup, to be exact!). The maple syrup from Coombs Family Farms is USDA Organic and their harvesting methods are kind to the environment, as well.

Pure maple has been a way of life at Coombs Family Farms for seven generations. Coombs Family Farms has produced 100% pure maple since 1840. Since 1988, Coombs Family Farms has produced certified organic maple syrup. A champion of small family farming, Coombs Family Farms also sources 100% pure organic certified maple from other small, independent farmers who share the Coombs commitment to quality, environmental stewardship, and sustainable forestry management.

maplemen.jpgGetting to try Coombs Family Farms maple syrup was a treat, to say the least. I don’t generally eat anything that requires syrup because the kind that is generally sold in stores is thick and sugary, so I was excited about this maple syrup. For anyone who’s never had pure maple syrup, it may come to a surprise that it’s not as sweet as the standard pancake syrup. Don’t let that discourage you… it’s full of flavor, and the flavor is amazing (ridiculously amazing, I say).

The first time I tried Coombs Family Farms syrup, I was sidetracked after my waffle was done, and it got cold. I decided to eat it anyway, and even on a cold waffle the syrup floored me. It tasted like being back in New England.

I was also sent a little maple candy man, which I only got one bite of before Andrew tried it and snatched it from me. That was my first experience with real maple candy, and Maple Man’s head tasted great (which explains why Andrew stole Maple Man’s body!).

So I definitely (and highly) recommend Coombs Family Farms maple syrup for anyone who thinks they already know a good maple syrup, you’re going to be happily surprised.
