Eco-Friendly Friday

December 24th’s Tip

Present wrapping: Christmas Eve! Many of us are still wrapping presents, or just starting present wrapping. Run out of wrapping paper? Don’t buy more! Use something more eco-friendly. There are a number of options to be creative and unique if you wrap gifts in something other than wrapping paper.

  • Fabric: Any fabric piece with a pattern / texture / color that you or the gift receiver likes will work great. You can wrap the gift like you are using paper, or you can make a bag out of the fabric and tie with a ribbon.
  • Shopping bags: Reusable shopping bags make great gift wrap because they can also be included as part of the gift.
  • Gifts: Certain types of gifts can be used to wrap other gifts. Scarves, for example, can be tied around other gifts. Use your imagination!
  • Old papers: Old papers such as maps or old work papers (think blueprints, etc.) can make neat wrapping paper, especially if it relates to something the gift receiver enjoys.
