Eco-Friendly Friday Tips 95 – Green Vacationing
June 4th’s Tip
Green Vacationing, Part One: Summer is here, and many people are planning vacations.
First thought – how about a staycation? If you don’t have your heart set on a destination, take the time off from work/school and enjoy lounging around at home. You can visit local touristy attractions, or check out a restaurant you’ve never been to.
If you’re planning on heading out, a close destination is always an option. If you live in the suburbs of a large city, you can take a trip into the city and check out the area. For example, we live about 15 minutes outside of St. Louis city, and we have spent a few days downtown checking out the arch, the museums, and the rest of the tourist attractions. Fun, easy, and we didn’t even have to stay in a hotel because we took the MetroLink down and back!
If you really want to get the full on vacation experience, look into a green hotel. You can learn more about green hotels here, and to see a list, visit here.
