January 8th’s Tip

iron.jpgIroning: You probably know that you can turn your oven off early and it will keep cooking your food (as long as you don’t open the door and let all the heat out!), but did you ever think about turning your iron off early?

Consider how long your iron stays hot once you are done using it and turn it off. It’s at least a good 5 minutes or so, right? Maybe more? All that residual heat is pretty much going to waste if you aren’t using the iron during that time, so why not turn the iron off a few minutes before you’re done, and use the heat that’s leftover? It should give you enough time to iron a shirt or two more, and save a few minutes of energy.

A tiny step, but they do add up.
