Eco-Friendly Friday

February 27th’s Tip

Composting: Real organic veggies need good organic fertilizer. One of the most natural and simple ways to produce the best fertilizer is to mix 1/3 kitchen compost with 1/3 dead leaves with 1/3 fresh manure, and this will give you a good all-purpose N-P-K mixture. Any manure works. Horse manure has been found to be a very good mix of nutrients. Compost needs to be stirred a couple times a week to work best. Over time, the heat from the composting will produce black, rich loam that will grow the best vegetables you ever tasted! – submitted by Glenn
