Green Smoothie Glow: Beauty is in the Green

Green foods are chock full of alkaline, minerals, chlorophyll and amino acids, making them the most nutrient dense of all foods. Not only that, but they’re also beauty foods as they regenerate, repair and purify your cells. I’ve found that the easiest way to make sure I take in these nutrients every day is through drinking a green smoothie.  With a green smoothie, you will drink your way to radiant skin, renewed energy and optimum health.

A daily green smoothie will flood your body with nutrients. Here are just a few good reasons why you should sip on a green smoothie today:

  • Green Smoothies will revitalise you and help remove toxins–all you need is an open mind and a blender.
  • Your skin will glow, you will radiate and you will be filled with loads of energy. And did I mention that your skin will glow?

THE MODERN ZEN GIRL

This is my signature smoothie, the one I have most often.

3 stalks of Kale
Juice from a green coconut
1 mango
1 passionfruit
1 banana
1 tablespoon of almonds

How to Make:

1. Wash and prep all ingredients.
2. Add everything to blender and blend until it is as smooth as silk.
3. Top up with water if needed.
4. Serve immediately

green smoothieTHE GREEN TEA MANTRA (makes two)

You will need:

3 kale leaves
1 banana
½ cup fresh blueberries
½ cup fresh raspberries
1 cup green tea fresh brewed and chilled
2 cm cube fresh ginger root (peeled and chopped)

How to Make:

1. Wash and prep all ingredients.
2. Add everything to blender and blend until it is as smooth as silk.
3. Top up with water if needed.
4. Serve immediately

THE PROTEIN BLAST (makes two)

green smoothieYou will need:

1 frozen banana
1 frozen mango
1 tbsp. of chia seeds
1 tbsp. of hemp seeds
1 tsp. of almonds
1 tbsp. of Spirulina
1 Cos lettuce leaf
3 kale leaves
1 cup Water

How to Make:

1. Wash and prep all ingredients.
2. Add everything to blender and blend until it is as smooth as silk.
3. Top up with water if needed.
4. Serve immediately
