Greenbar – The Eco-Friendly Toolbar
Who needs bookmarks? The Greenbar Toolbar is a plugin for Firefox and Internet Explorer (like the StumbleUpon Toolbar) that lists a large group of eco-focused blogs and websites. It’s like having all of these sites bookmarked in your browser, but easier, because you don’t have to find and bookmark them, and the Greenbar keeps them right at your fingertips. It also aggregates feeds to make it even easier to find content that interests you.
But Greenbar isn’t only for making browsing eco sites easier, it also has some other built in abilities. There are gadgets, including a calculator, a notepad to type your to do lists, Sudoku, and more. There’s a Facebook widget and a Twitter widget, too. You can search the net from the toolbar, or it can be set up to alert you when you have email, a feature I don’t personally need because my mailbox is always open :) You can even have it display your local (or not local) weather.
All of these options are, of course, customizable. You can remove what you won’t use, and add it back later if you want it.
So, go download your Greenbar Toolbar and get to browsing!
